About Geddes Wines

The winery is built in the hill surrounded by spotted gum trees and a native bush setting. Open wooden fermenters and different styles of oak barrels fill the space.

The tranquil setting of Blewitt Springs is perfect for the philosophy of Seldom Inn.

Geddes Wines is a unique winery where all the fruit is sourced locally in McLaren Vale by Tim personally. Having a relationship with growers not just a contract. The wines are all hand made in our own winery in Blewitt Springs by Tim. These wines are created, not produced. Tim takes great pride in getting to know the growers and stopping to have a beer with them - getting to know them as the characters they are. We can trace all the footprints of the grapes down to the truck driver that delivered them and their lovely wives that keep them on the straight and narrow. The winery is lucky enough to still be dealing with the same growers from our establishment in 2007. We stop for lunch and celebrate the vintage rather than endure it.

Geddes are environmentally conscious using solar panels to power the winery and solar power for energy.100% of the water for the winery is captured rainwater and all wastewater is then fed onto a woodlot that grows Gumtrees, which has increased the natural habitat for local wildlife. The aim is to use as much recycled material in our wine packaging as possible, eliminating the usage of single-use products.

All wines are open fermented, gentle extraction and basket pressed to retrieve subtle tannins and generous complex fruit characters.
