GRENACHE (60%), SHIRAZ (35%), MATARO (5%)
The lifted aromas of spice, cherry, rose petal and tar are derived from the Grenache and the sense of the depth of plums and pepper comes from the Shiraz. The Mataro adds earthy meaty notes and with all three varieties combined form a complex nose. The Grenache automatically hits the front palate with its sweet confectionary spiced cherry fruit following on into the density of plums and dark fruits from the Shiraz with the Mataro rounding the flavours off and an earthy long lasting length. A medium to full bodied wine aged in 3-4 year old French and American Hogsheads has very little oak influence but rather contributing ageing characters forming a luscious broad palate with soft fine grained tannins, savoury notes, and allowing the wine gain in complexity.
