The dark fruit spectrum that’s present that shows typical characters of this variety with likes of blackberry, blueberry and youthful mulberry aromas. The use of French oak is lifted with the fruit adding complexity to the nose. Luscious rich red and dark berry fruit coats the palate. With the addition of French oak adds cedar and sweet oak characters. The natural nature of the variety has fine grain tannins combined with the oak adds structure, supporting the strength of the fruit from front to back. The majority of the wine is derived from 40yr old vines with a small portion of the wine derived from 15yr old vines. Good levels of fruit intensity should develop to more complex characters with careful cellar from mid to long.
