Light vibrant citrus undertones, opulent white flower floral notes on the nose. 20% wild french barrel fermentation has added a creamy slightly pine nut character, retaining seamless natural acidity strong lasting zesty freshness. This pinot gris is handpicked in the Adelaide Hills. Tank fermented under cool conditions, crisp Packham pears on the nose, a preserved lemon gloss in the mouth, crushed lime leaves, showing rich and subtle complex fruit flavours. Mellowing french oak hints on the finish of the back pallet. Has intense and austerity aromas of Nashi pear, granny smith apples and underlying tones of lemon rind and white peach. The generous flavours of pears and white nectarines with a citrus crispness refreshing the palate.
Balancing the small residual sugar against the crisp acid crunch added complexity and rounded the mouth feel. A complex vibrant clean crisp wine that is made for enjoyment now but has the confidence to age in the bottle for 2 – 5 years.
