Cabernet Sauvignon 60% Petit Verdot 40% 180 dozen produced
The Cabernet was aged in new French 500L puncheons and the Petit Verdot was aged in new 300L French oak for 24 months. While the Seldom Inn range of the cabernet won two silvers and a bronze and the petit Verdot won the trophy, 3 gold, 3 silver and many bronze, combining the two only strengthens the two both contributing to each other. There are dark berries, dry toasted spice seed, floral and primary aromas of raspberry, violets and white pepper. The aromas have subtle cabernet varietal notes of snow pea shoots. The palate is full bodied juice plums and dark berries, creamy toasted oak and secondary characters of toasted cigar box cedar, fine grained tannins supporting structure of the fruit.
