Cabernet Sauvignon 60% Petit Verdot 40%
180 dozen produced
The Cabernet was aged in new French Oak 500L puncheons and the Petit Verdot was aged in new 300L French oak hogsheads for 24 months. While the Seldom Inn range of the Cabernet Sauvignon won two silver medals and a bronze, and the Petit Verdot won a trophy, 3 gold, 3 silver and many bronze medals, combining the two only strengthens the two. There are dark berries, dry toasted spice seeds, florals and primary aromas of raspberry, violets and white pepper. The aromas have subtle Cabernet varietal notes of snow pea shoots. The palate is full bodied with plums, dark berries, creamy toasted oak and secondary characters of toasted cigar box cedar with fine grained tannins supporting the structure of the fruit.
