2010 EXPERIMENTAL MATARO
AU $40
100 cases produced
Mataro is usually a variety used to compliment other varieties in a blend. I have chosen to produce a straight varietal to showcase the characters of Mataro, highlighting the distinctiveness that it adds to a blend. This wine has a meaty fullness on the pallet, with blue fruits and exotic spices. Slight tamarillo tarmat feel, still offering the elegance of torte cake and persimmons. The tannin structure is present and noticeable but fine grained and complimentary. Fermented and aged in 1200 Litre French Oak for 18 months
Wine making stats pH 3.61, TA 6.5 g/L, Alcohol 14.4%
