2010 EXPERIMENTAL OLD VINE GRENACHE

100 cases produced
When a 65 year old Grenache vineyard is offered to you, it is a good idea to honour it with a straight varietal. The inkling of making this wine has always been in the back of my mind and now I finally have the fruit to make it happen.
The dry grown vineyard combined with a characteristic McLaren vale vintage combined to create a wine that includes spicy notes, soft red fruits of cherry and raspberry and a hint of white pepper. It has an underlying lusciousness on the pallet showing all the characters typical of a McLaren Vales unique Grenache style.
Fermented and aged in 1200 Litre French Oak for 18 months
Wine making stats pH 3.55 , TA 6.6 g/L, Alcohol 14.9%
