2010 SELDOM INN PETTI VERDOT
Made for fun, passion of this variety. It is very well suited to Mclaren Vale climate where it can ripen slowly and long, not understood within its capability of either blending or being a straight varietal.
A barrel selection has resulted in a very serious wine, that the old world would greatly appreciate. This wine is full bodied, intense, with a structured complex that is too much to understand for a basic consumer.
Described as the generosity of a shiraz with a cabernet structure. Typical aromas of pepper, violets and dark fruits with a natural tannin and acid giving a wine with structure and finesse, with a whack of 100% new French oak are well accepted and integrated like a terminator taking care of Daniel Connor.
