2017 Maslin Shiraz

(250 Dozen Made)

This is the first time that this wine has been released as a single vineyard wine, as I say, the stars aligned.

The fruit was selective harvested with a portion being handpicked for the intentions a portion of whole bunch ferment. Two fermenters had 25% whole bunch added with heading down boards. This meant the fruit was totally submerged in juice with no maceration, allowing gentle extraction of colour and flavour. It was then basket pressed and transferred to new French 3000 litre oak cask and matured for 15 months.

The result is plush confectionary blue fruits, spice, pepper with a hint of pencil shaving French oak. The whole bunch was blended out to 10% adding complexity.

The structure shows more bunch tannin character that will integrate in its years to become even more complexing characters.

The layer upon layer of flavour profiles will make this wine age gracefully - A wine created for thinking while drinking.

Alcohol 13.4% - pH 3.68 – Total Acidity 5.8 g/L
