A beautiful representation of the new season — an exceptional year for Viognier and Grenache in the Southern Vales.
Knowing the Viognier was pressed so lightly it still had too much juice in it to compost. So.. make a Rose, they say!
A skin contact indigenous yeast fermented Viognier with the addition of Grenache 5% and Shiraz 5% for the rose colour and to add other fruit characters. Soft gentle maceration from the skins for intention of colour extraction has also contributed watermelon and strawberry aromas, with underlying Viognier peach and apricot notes.
The palate has a perceived sweetness from the Viognier glycerol but is bone dry. It has a crispy acid line and subtle tannin structure. A wine that delivers more than what is expected.
Alcohol 12.1% - pH 3.6 - Total acidity 6.8 g/L - G&F 0.11g/L
