Seldom Inn by Geddes
The philosophy behind the label “Seldom Inn” was from the Late Pat Geddes who was one for living life and being a larger than life character.
Pat used to unplug the phone from the wall or ask his kids to say he wasn’t home. This resulted in his associates to make a sign Seldom Inn and hanging it on the driveway entrance. This belief of turning the phone, computer and any other technology that makes you instantly contactable, “off”. Enjoy life with a glass of wine, tasty food and great friends.
A full-bodied wine in style of a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz that emerged from a beautiful vintage. Ages gracefully.
A warmer ripening period for this vintage created a wine with more intense fruit characters - notes of plum, blackberry, spice and Black Forest cake. Delicious.
A 2020 Grenache showing the great characteristics of the vintage. The generosity of the fruit stemming from the perfect growing conditions in Blewitt Springs, South Australia.
2020 PETIT VERDOT
A soft and generously full palate that is well rounded, with a firm fine-grained tannin shining through. - savoury and persistent mouth feel. As Geddes like to say - the generosity of a Shiraz, with the structure of a Cabernet.
Easy drinking and approachable. A zippy red that wakes up the tastebuds with a low tannin and a pronounced acidity. Red fruit is prominent, with maraschino cherry and cranberry flavours and an undertone of black cardamon.
The palate is fresh and balanced with fine grain tannin. Mentions of juicy cherry and raspberry confectionary characters on the front palate. A seamless fruit structure that slides into a meat jerky and plum flavour from the Mourvèdre and Shiraz.
A classic Geddes staple. Light and vibrant - Full of fruity flavour and subtle French oak. Red cherries and a mild spice. It is a vibrant and perfumed wine with plum, cherry, cured meats and wood on the nose.
A beautiful representation of the new season. With crisp, fresh peach, strawberry and apricot tones this Rose is dry and mouth-watering.
